School Choice opens February 1, 2017
To continue meeting families’ needs, DPS has moved the School Choice window from January to February. The 2018-19 school year choice window will be Feb. 1-28, 2018. Click here for more information.
DPS School Choice Process
The DPS School Choice office has provided the following important information to parents to guide them in the choice process.
- Details will follow later this year regarding the release of paper applications as well as online access to School Choice forms. Families should make their choice selections by one method only and should NOT complete both printed and online choice forms.
- DPS encourages parents/guardians of currently enrolled DPS students to create a Parent Portal account in order to participate in the online School Choice system. Participating in this online School Choice system means parents/guardians will not have to drop off or mail a School Choice form, and they may find out the results of their choice application sooner.
- Parents/Guardians of new DPS students may also participate in online School Choice by pre-enrolling and creating a Parent Portal account prior to February 1, 2018.
- Geared toward students and families who are looking for a new school, the Office of Choice and Enrollment Services offers a school match website (http://schoolmatch.dpsk12.org). This resource allows users search by the criteria that are most important to them.

Near Northeast Enrollment Zone
On December 17, 2015, the school board approved the creation of the district’s 11th shared enrollment zone.
