PTSA Night – Thursday, Jan 24th

Please join us for PTSA Night – Thursday, January 24th at 5pm on the Manual campus. We will discuss how to continue to develop and strengthen our parent community and engagement. Dinner will be provided. Students should plan to join us for this event. There will be a dodge ball competition and pizza for students!

Behavior System and Celebrations Letter

mailLast week, we sent home a letter with students to share some important updates regarding our behavior systems and upcoming events. We have added a lunch period for 6th graders and we have changed our morning routine for students arriving to campus before 7:55 am. You can access the full letter here.

Follow-up to Proposed Schedule/Leadership Changes

Regarding the proposed bell schedule and leadership changes announced in December:

  • The bell schedule will NOT be changed; the school day continues to be 8am – 4pm;
  • Jessica Long will continue to lead operations and culture development at MMMS;
  • Students will return from Winter Break on TUESDAY, JANUARY 8th

DPS Family Leadership Institute – Dec 13th

Girl with DPS FACE LogoWe invite our families to Family Leadership Institute from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Dec. 13 at the PPA Event Center, 2105 Decatur St. During this session, we will discuss:
  • How to enhance parent leadership and advocacy skills at home, at school and at the district level.
  • District initiatives that support equity and culturally responsive education that benefit our students.
  • The English Language Acquisition District Advisory Committee (ELA DAC) session will discuss ELA topics, programs and services.

Teacher Holiday Gift Fund – Donations Requested

giftThe PTSA would like to help make sure all of our teachers and staff feel appreciated this holiday season. We are collecting money for gifts and a staff celebration. You can drop off donations in the office or use PayPal for online donations. PayPal donations can be directed to PTSA President Allison Melun (allisonmelun@hotmail.com or PayPal.me/AllisonMelun).
