Dear Manual Campus Families,

We are committed to letting you know about incidents that affect our campus and the community. During Thanksgiving break, the Denver police and DPS Safety responded to a shooting in our school parking lot. As you know, school was not in session.

Denver police are investigating what occurred and a suspect has been taken into custody. For precautionary reasons, we will have enhanced security on our campus this week. School will proceed as normal.

Safety is a top priority at the Manual Campus. Please let us know if you have questions or concerns, or if you or your student would like additional support. You may also reach out to the DPS family and community helpline at 720-423-3054 or by emailing the Family and Community Engagement (FACE) team at

We want to emphasize that if your child ever wants to make a report about something they have heard or seen, they can always speak to a teacher or school leader. They can also anonymously contact Safe-2-Tell at 1-877-542-7233.

Thank you for your continued support of our schools and our students. We are committed to keeping you updated on all safety matters.
