Julie Malek is a native Denverite and proud alumna of Manual High School. She has been the librarian at McAuliffe Manual Middle School for five years (I actually am not sure, but I think that’s right :). Julie loves helping students find books that they connect to or that open their eyes to the experiences of others; she believes books are a magic portal to transport, transform, entertain and relax. Outside of school, Julie loves to read (duh!), hike, ski and take walks with her husband Rick and dog Finley. Julie has two adult daughters she loves to hang out with when they come to visit.
