Hello! I am overjoyed to be joining the MMMS family this year as your school counselor. I am new to Denver, but I grew up not too far away in Fort Collins, CO and also attended Colorado State University for my bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies. While at CSU I was an assistant preschool teacher for 3 years, as well as a synchronized swimming coach! I have also had amazing opportunities to work and study abroad, including Austria and Chile. Those experiences abroad sparked my interest in exploring different parts of the world and immersing myself in different cultures, so after graduating from CSU I joined the Peace Corps as a volunteer in Rwanda where I taught elementary school English. Through teaching I realized how much I want to support student mental health and future planning, so I then attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education from 2019-2021 for my master’s degree in Prevention Science and Practice, along with a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Counseling. It has been a long road bringing me back to Colorado, but I could not feel more fortunate to be joining the MMMS community this year. Outside of school, you can catch me baking, taking a long walk around the city, and spending time with loved ones!
